There are certain retreats and gatherings that stay with you long after the journey home, and my recent time in St. Croix with The Nomad Collective was one of those experiences.
I was deeply honored to be commissioned to create portraits and document this beautiful MasterMind Retreat hosted by Phoebe and The Nomad Collective at the extraordinary Feather Leaf Inn in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands.
From the very beginning, there was a sense of ease, openness, and genuine connection woven throughout the weekend. Those are always the spaces where the most meaningful photographs emerge — when people feel safe enough to soften, fully arrive, and simply be themselves.
For me, photography has never been only about capturing an image. It is about witnessing presence. It is about preserving the feeling beneath the moment — the quiet exchanges, the laughter, the transformation, the energy moving between people when they feel seen and supported.
Whether I am photographing in Nyack, New York City, or documenting destination experiences around the world, my intention remains the same: to create imagery that feels elevated, honest, and emotionally alive while honoring the unique essence of every person and gathering I photograph.
What made this retreat so special was not only the beauty of St. Croix itself, but the atmosphere Phoebe and The Nomad Collective created — one rooted in authenticity, inspiration, expansion, and human connection. The Feather Leaf Inn offered the perfect backdrop for that experience to unfold naturally and beautifully.
I left feeling deeply grateful to have witnessed and documented these moments. Photography, at its best, becomes more than documentation. It becomes a living remembrance of how something felt, long after the weekend has ended.

About Phoebe:
Phoebe has been a teacher, healer, and dancer in one form or another her whole life. She entered entrepreneurship in her early twenties as a Pilates and yoga teacher, eventually running a yoga studio out of a boutique hotel in the Hudson Valley and leading yoga teacher trainings. But the vision that truly brought all of her roles together was The nOMad Collective — her baby — born in 2013.
Fourteen years ago, Phoebe saw something bigger than leading her own retreats. She envisioned a collective of teachers, leaders, guides, and healers who are here to change the way we walk in the world — helping people in their own transformation and awakening. What fueled that vision was something deeply personal: the loneliness she'd felt as a young entrepreneur. nOMad became the antidote — a place to share resources, knowledge, business wisdom, hardships, and wins. A true collaboration. Phoebe is the founder, but as she'll tell you, nOMad found her just as much as she built it. And she believes it's a place where many people are found.
Phoebe is also the author of Dear Radiant One and the creator of Movement 109 (MVT109), a somatic movement practice.
