I was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, and I found my passion and love for photography in college—where I first picked up a camera—and I never looked back. I have been a professional photographer my entire working life. I just love the way I became an observer, experiencing the world through the lens. Learning to see the play of light and shadow in a landscape or the feeling of interconnectivity when shooting an assignment or event.
I opened my first Portrait and Commercial Photography studio in Portsmouth New Hampshire in the 1990's. I still remember how excited I got watching a print emerge from the chemicals in a dark room (yes, I learned with film)—and the thrill of seeing what I had photographed! Having that moment in time, forever captured. I loved spending hours in the dark room, mastering the craft of the print.
Now, years later and the medium is digital, the same thrill is there, as I watch the files input into the computer. The excitement of seeing the faces and the moments again, reliving the experience of connecting with a client at a wedding or photo shoot.
In 1999 I relocated to New York City - shooting for clients and national brands in Fashion, Editorial, Business Branding and Advertising. Then, in 2001, I opened a new studio in the heart of Manhattan - 4 Eyes Photography - with my partner Rupert Rogers. This quickly became a very busy and successful photography studio, specializing in high-end luxury Weddings & Event photography for clients around the world, which is still thriving today!
I feel so honored and fortunate to be a part of two successful wedding and commercial photography business in NYC, with the opportunity to photograph and connect with clients all over the globe.
In 2019 I expanded to the Lower Hudson Valley, opening a Portrait Studio in an old bank - Headspace Studio Nyack. In addition to shooting portraits and headshots for clients, I also use the space as a base for my other passion- The Divine Hive.
With The Divine Hive I wanted to provide a space and community for workshops in Meditation, Alternative Healing, Arts, and group discussions. Bringing spirituality and personal development to all aspects of daily life. Helping people integrate and share experiences that uplift and inspire - which seems to feed my passion for photography even more !
